Biography

Prof. Liming Jiang is Associate Professor and Associate Head (Partnership) in the Department of Building Environment and Energy Building of Hong Kong PolyU. His research focuses on building fire safety as well as construction automation, and he is the key developer and manager of OpenSees for fire. He served in multiple committees including local committees of Building Department, Education Committee of IAFSS, Fire and Life Safety Committee of CTBUH. He is the co-chair of 12th international conference on structures in fire and vice-director of International Joint Research Laboratory on smart fire safety engineering based in Tongji University. His research on “active opening for fire spread mitigation” has won Philip Thomas Medal of Excellence from IAFSS.
