Biography

Prof. Kaiming BI is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). Before joining PolyU in January 2023, he was an Australian Research Council (ARC) Future Fellow and Associate Professor in the Centre for Infrastructure Monitoring and Protection at Curtin University, Australia. Prof. Bi's research interests mainly include Structural Vibration Control, Structural Dynamics, and Earthquake Engineering. He has generated more than 220 peer-reviewed papers in the well-known international journals. His research papers have attracted more than 9200 citations in Google Scholar with an H-index of 50 (up to Sep 2025). Prof. Bi has won quite a few highly competitive research grants, including the prestigious ARC Future Fellowship, Discovery Early Career Researcher Award in Australia, and the Research Grants Council General Research Fund in Hong Kong. Prof. Bi is an Associate Editor of the top structural engineering journal Engineering Structures.
