Biography
Prof. Huang graduated from the University of Hong Kong with her first degree in Civil Engineering (BEng) and PhD degree. Before joining the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Prof. Huang had worked as Lecturer and Senior Lecturer at School of Engineering, University of Edinburgh in UK. She is currently a member of Institution of Civil Engineers (CEng MICE), member of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (M.ASME) and Fellow of High Education Academy (FHEA). Prof. Huang serves as the Associate Editor of ASME Journal of Pressure Vessel Technology (JPVT) as well as the editorial board member of Journal of Energy Infrastructure, Journal of Constructional Steel Research and Thin-Walled Structures.
She has published widely on topics related to steel structures, offshore energy infrastructures, advanced metallic materials, fire resistance etc. She has obtained several awards for her research projects, including the “Covid-19 Engineering Medal” by the School of Engineering in University of Edinburgh and “Research Impact Prize” by University of Edinburgh. Her co-authored translated technical code was named by Springer Nature as being one of the “top used publications that concerns UN’s SDGs”.
