Biography
Prof. Kai Zhou is currently an Assistant Professor in Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He received his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Connecticut, USA. Prof. Zhou has a broad research interest, ranging from structural dynamics, vibration and noise control, structural health monitoring, to smart materials and structures, with strong expertise in data-driven design optimization, uncertainty quantification and reliability analysis, and machine learning. He currently serves as Editorial Board Member for Journal of Composites Science and Associate Editor for Cureus Journal of Engineering. He has been included for Standford’s Top 2% Scientists for both 2024 and 2025 (Single-year data).
