Ms. Yifei XU

Biography

Ms. Xu Yifei is currently a Senior Research Fellow of the Chinese National Engineering Research Centre for Steel Construction (Hong Kong Branch). Ms. Xu is a Corporate Member of The Institution of Structural Engineers, and a Chartered Engineer of the Engineering Council in the U.K. since 2014.
Ms. Xu received a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from Shanghai Jiaotong University in 2000. After graduation, she worked as a project engineer in the BlueScope Steel Lysaght Systems (Shanghai) Co. Ltd. to provide engineering solutions on metal building envelopes for a variety of building structures. In 2005, Ms. Xu joined Jack Hodgson Consultants in Sydney, Australia as a structural engineer to design residential buildings. She obtained her Master of Structural Engineering from the University of Sydney in Australia in 2010. In the same year, Ms. Xu came to Hong Kong, and then, she worked as a project engineer in Meinhardt (Hong Kong) and AECOM (Hong Kong), and also China Overseas Construction (Hong Kong) on a wide range of construction projects.
Ms. Xu is highly experienced in formulating structural solutions using different construction materials to achieve structural adequacy, efficiency and economy, in particular, with structural steel in high-rise buildings and modular integrated construction (MiC) buildings.
