On 18 March 2026, more than 130 graduating students gathered at the Alumni Atrium for “Class Ambassadors Connect 2026”. The event marked the official appointment of the latest cohort of Class Ambassadors, who came together to build relationships, exchange perspectives, and prepare to take an active role in the PolyU alumni community.
The programme began with a presentation by Ms Wanze Li, Assistant Director of the Alumni Affairs Office. She introduced the Class Ambassador Scheme and encouraged the final-year students to stay closely connected with their alma mater after graduation. She also invited them to inspire their peers to participate in alumni activities and to help strengthen the PolyU network beyond campus.
A highlight of the event was a sharing session by two Class Ambassadors appointed in previous years. They spoke about the personal and professional benefits they gained from serving in the role, and offered practical tips on maintaining strong ties with classmates while staying engaged with the University. Their stories gave the graduating class valuable insights into the importance of sustaining lifelong links with PolyU.
The atmosphere was further enlivened by a lucky draw, during which PolyU souvenirs were presented to the ambassadors by Ms Yvonne Li, Director of Alumni Affairs; Dr Darron Sun, President of the Federation of PolyU Alumni Associations (FHKPUAA); along with FHKPUAA officers, alumni leaders, and representatives from PolyU offices.
The networking session that followed was particularly engaging, featuring lively conversations and exchanges of ideas among the new ambassadors, alumni leaders from different disciplines, and University representatives. Many participants stayed on after the formal programme to continue their discussions and explore ways to deepen engagement with PolyU and fellow graduates.
This year, over 300 final-year students from PolyU’s faculties, schools, departments, and the College of Professional and Continuing Education have been nominated as Class Ambassadors. With this vibrant new cohort, the PolyU alumni family is set to be energised with renewed passion and commitment.
