On 2 December 2025, the Alumni Affairs Office (AAO) and the Federation of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Alumni Associations (FHKPUAA) jointly hosted the online talk “Collaborating with AI: Rethinking Work in the AI Era”. Around 180 alumni, staff, and students spent a productive lunch hour learning about the latest developments in AI and exploring how AI can enhance workplace productivity.
Prof. Andy Chun, Professor of Practice at the Department of Computing of PolyU, discussed how AI and agentic AI are being rapidly adopted across industries, outlining key risks, governance needs, and the skills required for effective human-AI collaboration. He demonstrated a range of practical AI tools for research, knowledge management, and presentations, showing how these solutions can be applied in daily work to improve efficiency and decision-making.
Ms Karen Tam, Honorary Treasurer of FHKPUAA, served as MC and moderated the Q&A session. Prof. Chun addressed questions on ethics, data confidentiality, information security, the integration of AI in learning and teaching, and more. Feedback from the post-event survey was overwhelmingly positive, with participants describing the talk as both inspiring and highly informative.
Thank you for everyone’s active participation. More alumni activities are in the pipeline, so please stay tuned for future updates from the community.
Start experimenting, start collaborating, and start rethinking how AI can amplify your work today. Remember to stay curious and keep learning! The future of work is already here! Let’s shape it together!
