The Alumni Performing Arts Appreciation Club aims to bring together alumni who share a passion for culture and performing arts. Its inaugural event took place on 20 October 2025 on campus, welcoming over 40 alumni film enthusiasts back to participate.
During the event, Mr Daniel Chan, a PolyU lecturer, film critic, and screenwriter, shared insights on structuring film reviews. Using a short video as an example, he demonstrated how to summarise the main storyline and apply analytical techniques to uncover deeper meanings, guiding alumni in enhancing their appreciation of visual works.
Later that evening, PolyU Cinema screened the film “Dead To Rights” at the Jockey Club Auditorium. Participating alumni enjoyed this cinematic experience together, providing an excellent opportunity to deepen their artistic understanding through film analysis.
This event marked the official launch of the Alumni Performing Arts Appreciation Club and laid the foundation for future activities that will bring alumni closer together and foster a lasting bond with their alma mater. We warmly invite you to join as a member and share in the joy of arts appreciation!
