Ms Rosie CHAN Man-wai
Founder, JAPJAP Zero Waste Limited
Bachelor of Arts in Environment and Interior Design (2022)
During her years at PolyU, Ms Rosie Chan Man-wai emerged as a passionate advocate for sustainable living. Her dedication led to the creation of a one-stop food waste collection and processing machine that utilises black soldier flies to consume food waste continuously. Once the flies complete their life cycle, they can be converted into animal feed, fertiliser for crops, or even biodiesel, revolutionising waste management practices. After graduation, Ms Chan founded JAPJAP Zero Waste with a vision of providing every community, household, and business with access to efficient and sustainable waste management solutions. JAPJAP Zero Waste has achieved remarkable recognition, including being named Champion of the Hong Kong Social Enterprise Challenge, winning the Gold Award at Hong Kong Techathon+, and earning the Young Techpreneur Project award, along with many other accolades that highlight its immense potential.
