Summary

Welcome alumni, along with your family and friends, to step away from the city and enjoy a relaxed time in the countryside. The event will take place in So Kwun Wat Village in Tuen Mun, a community with over 300 years of history where generations have made their living through farming, supplying Hong Kong with organic produce over the years. Participants will not only take part in hands-on farming activities, but also gain an appreciation for the heritage and warmth of local agricultural life.

Guided by an experienced local farmer, participants will learn about the nutritional value of organic vegetables and simple planting techniques, with the opportunity to try them hands-on in the field. A Hakka glutinous rice dumpling making session will also be held, offering a simple and heartwarming taste of tradition.

Programme Highlights:

• Introduction to the walled village and visit to Tin Hau Temple

• Farm tour and organic farming experience

• Hands-on planting and fertilising

• Making an organic vegetable potted plant

• Harvesting seasonal vegetables (one portion per participant)

• Making and enjoying Hakka glutinous rice dumplings

Details of the participation fee and registration will be announced shortly. Please stay tuned to the Alumni Affairs Office’s website, Facebook and Instagram for the latest updates.
