Summary

Photography is not always about producing a finished piece, but about responding honestly to the moment. What may look spontaneous often reflects a cultivated understanding of equipment, light, composition, and visual sensibility developed over time.

This workshop has no fixed theme or assigned subject. Alumni are invited to navigate through the city together, observing people and everyday scenes, and learning how to capture what they see and feel in a natural and direct manner.

Led by PolyU alumnus and renowned art director, photographer, and designer Mr Alex Ma, the workshop begins with an on-campus sharing session on photographic concepts and techniques, followed by an outdoor photo walk with live and demonstrations. A popular highlight, the “Camera Eats First” pre-meal food photography session, could be a surprise.

Event Highlights

  • Learn-as-you-go approach, applying techniques immediately in real-life settings
  • Covers portrait, street, lifestyle details, and food photography
  • No equipment restrictions, cameras and smartphones are equally welcome
  • A relaxed, informal atmosphere, like a casual city stroll with natural interaction

 Fee: Complimentary

Seats are limited. Register now! Whether you are a photography enthusiast or a casual smartphone shooter, this workshop offers a chance to enhance your photographic skills through practice and observation.
