Come and discover how Co-founder of Hai Robotics Mr Fang Bing and his partner, both PolyU alumni, revolutionised warehouse management with the world’s first autonomous case-handling robotic (ACR) system and propelled the industry into the future. In a fireside chat, Mr Fang will unveil the start-up’s inspiring journey of becoming a unicorn with his former academic mentor Prof. Lu Chao.

In addition, you will have the opportunity to learn about PolyU’s Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Lab (AIR Lab) – a new state-of-the-art facility that takes PolyU’s educational and entrepreneurship support for students to the next level. You will also get a glimpse of the ACR system of Hai Robotics and some other cutting-edge robotics solutions.

Mr FANG Bing

Co-founder, Hai Robotics

Partnering with another elite alumnus Mr Richie Chen, Mr Fang Bing is a co-founder of Hai Robotics, a PolyVenture that attained the much-coveted unicorn status after seven rounds of financing with top investment institutions like Legend Star, Source Code Capital and 5YCapital. Prior to such remarkable achievement, Mr Fang had already made his mark with Mr Chen shortly after graduation – they set up their first start-up in 2014 and the first product, an optical communication control module, successfully secured orders from NASA, Huawei, Bell and other leading laboratories. Under their leadership, Hai Robotics is now a leader in autonomous case-handling robotic (ACR) systems, and became an honouree of Robotics Business Review’s RBR50 Robotics Innovation Awards in 2022.
