Ir Tam brings over 30 years of experience in delivering specialised engineering projects across the public works and infrastructure sectors. He has held senior leadership roles driving business growth in environmental engineering, airport and railway development, data centres, and healthcare facilities. Dedicated to serving the engineering community, Ir Tam is the Past Chairman of The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) Mechanical, Marine, Naval Architecture and Chemical Division, and the current Chair of the HKIE Mechanical Engineering Discipline Advisory Panel. He contributes to voluntary initiatives that advance the profession and support the development of young engineers. Through mentorship and guidance, he plays an active role in helping local mechanical engineers attain professional qualifications, thereby strengthening the mechanical engineering workforce in Hong Kong. Currently, Ir Tam serves as Managing Director of MGI at Jardine Engineering Corporation and as Senior Director of Krueger Engineering Limited, a JEC-invested company. He leads a team of over 300 engineering and technical professionals across Hong Kong, Macao, and the Chinese Mainland.

 

Dr Lam is a professional airline pilot with Cathay Pacific Airways. In 2013, while pursuing his MSc in Mechanical Engineering at PolyU, he became the first Hong Kong citizen to undergo and complete astronaut training at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. He successfully graduated from the programme and received his certification from Dr Buzz Aldrin, former NASA astronaut and the second person to walk on the moon. In recognition of this achievement, he received a commendation from the former Director-General of Civil Aviation in Hong Kong. Dr Lam is committed to sharing his aviation expertise with the community. He is the founder of Aviation University. He also contributes to youth aviation education in several roles, including serving as a voluntary pilot instructor at the Hong Kong Youth Aviation Academy, a lecturer for the Hong Kong Air Cadet Corps, and Group Commander of the Hong Kong Air Scout Association. In addition, he mentors students at the Hong Kong International Aviation Academy. Through these roles, he supports young people exploring pathways in aviation.

Mr Yu co-founded and established BlackHills’ Hong Kong operations, successfully guiding the firm through periods of social unrest and the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Under his leadership, BlackHills became the first boutique commercial real estate brand to break the dominance of traditional multinational competitors, facilitating over HK$4.6 billion in signed transactions in 2023-2024 alone. Today, the firm is recognised as one of the most active and influential agencies in Central’s office leasing market, representing more than 20% of tenant transactions in several prominent Grade A office buildings in 2024. In addition to managing four offices in the Chinese Mainland, Mr Yu expanded the Hong Kong team to 18 specialists, while also overseeing operations in Singapore and Japan. My Yu has played a notable role in shaping the commercial real estate landscape, and is the first leader from the Chinese Mainland to rise to prominence in the sector in Hong Kong. He pioneered the China Desk business at both Savills (2010-2013) and JLL (2013-2019), bridging cultural gaps and elevating industry standards. He has also led multiple Mainland delegations to Hong Kong, fostering relationships with major developers such as Swire Properties, Hongkong Land, Henderson Land, and Sun Hung Kai Properties. In recognition of his entrepreneurial contributions, Mr Yu was named as a Greater Bay Area Outstanding Young Entrepreneur by the Guangdong-HK-Macao Bay Area Entrepreneurs Alliance in 2024.
