AKKMORE®, a product by Bo InnoHealth, recently won the Silver Medal in 2022 International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva. Bo InnoHealth Biotechnology (PolyU Academic-led Start-up), was led by Dr Jimmy JIN, Associate Professor from the School of Accounting and Finance, and his former PostDoc, Dr Gail Chang. Bo InnoHealth was also awarded the Tech Launchpad Fund of HK$1,650,000 under TSSSU by Innovation and Technology Commission.
Bo InnoHealth is committed to knowledge transfer and lab product commercialization. The company has developed novel microencapsulation technology with mushroom cells as wall material to make probiotics microcapsules and artificial spores. This technology can protect probiotics against heat and pressure, and enables probiotics of different species to be applied in more application scenarios, such as snacks, hot drinks and pet food.
