Short Description

Dr Hanxiang (Emmanuel) Zhang is a Lecturer in the Department of Aeronautical and Aviation Engineering at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Prior to this, he worked as a Data Scientist at Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd. for three years. Dr Zhang received his PhD in Aviation Economics from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2022. He obtained his MSc in International Shipping and Transport Logistics from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, supported by the Hong Kong Maritime and Logistics Scholarship, and his BSc in Transportation Engineering with first-class honours from Jimei University. His research focuses on transportation economics, with publications in leading journals such as Transportation Research Part A and Transportation Research Part E. He also has hands-on experience in machine learning and optimization, with applications in aviation engineering and customer analytics.
