Programme Aims
The programme is designed
- to provide advanced education and training for students who seek to upgrade their knowledge and pursue high-level careers in the area of aviation and aeronautical engineering;
- to enable students to develop the competence needed to become more competitive in the job market and ultimately take leading roles in the aviation industry;
- to nurture students’ understanding and mastery of the most up-to-date advanced technologies in the area of aviation and aeronautical engineering; and
- to enable students to apply the knowledge and skills they have gained to solve problems encountered in practice.
Characteristics
The programme allows students to take subjects in various related fields, such as Air Traffic Control, Flight Mechanics, Aircraft Design, and Avionics. Students can also take certain combinations of subjects that lead to an award with specialisation. The unique opportunities offered by the programme help students to develop into highly competent and competitive professionals in the field of aviation and aeronautical engineering.
The mixed mode of study allows students to learn either full time or part time. Local students can vary their study mode from semester to semester according to their personal preferences. This flexibility is not available to non-local students, who are constrained by visa requirements.
The online mode of study is designed for non-local students. In this mode, all teaching activities, including assessment, are conducted online.
