Programme Overview

This 18-credit Minor in Pilot Ground Theory is offered by the Department of Aeronautical and Aviation Engineering for students enrolled in 4-year undergraduate programmes. This minor provides a rigorous theoretical foundation for aspiring aviation professionals, covering core principles of aircraft systems, aviation operations, advanced navigation, safety, and human factors.

The curriculum blends technical depth with operational and safety perspectives. Core subjects include Pilot Ground Theory, Avionics Systems, and Human Factors in Aviation. You can tailor your pathway with electives such as Introduction to Aircraft System, Air Traffic Management and Airport Operations, and Meteorology in Aviation.

Entrance Requirement

To be eligible for a Minor, you must have a cumulative GPA of 2.50 or above at the time of application for Minor enrolment.

The Minor application period normally begins after the announcement of overall results for Semester Two of Year One. Your CGPA at the end of Semester Two of Year One will be used to determine your eligibility. If you are interested in pursuing a Minor, please submit your application via eStudent > Application Forms > (AR147) Application for Minor during the designated application period.
