Short Description
Dr Dehao Xu received his Bachelor of Science from the Southern University of Science and Technology in 2018. He subsequently earned his PhD in 2023 from Peking University under the supervision of Prof. Shiyi Chen. Following his doctorate, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Twente (2023–2025) and later at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (2025). Dr Xu is currently a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Aeronautical and Aviation Engineering at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
Dr Xu mainly focuses on the mechanisms and modelling of the compressible turbulent wall-bounded turbulence, and the multiphase flows with phase change. His publications include over ten journal papers in Journal of Fluid Mechanics, Physical Review Fluids, Physics of Fluids, etc. as the first or corresponding author. He has been recognized with several awards, including the National Scholarship, the Outstanding Graduate award, and the Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation award from both Peking University and the Beijing Municipal Education Commission.
