The Departmental Retreat was held on 27 August 2021, with over 20 staff members joined the event.
In the opening remarks, Professor CY Wen, Head of the Department, updated the recent development and strategic plan of the Department. Dr Li Ta Hsu, Associate Head of the Department, reported the admission status of the undergraduate programmes and briefed members details of the new MSc programme (to be launched in the academic year 2022/23). Professor Simon Yu, Head of Training, shared the latest development of HKAR-147 and FTO. Dr Kam Ng introduced the Department’s upcoming major events, AAE Outstanding Alumni Awards and Alumni Homecoming Day in 2022.
The most enlightening part was Professor Wen’s summarization of the performance in research of the Department over the year, with sharing sessions from Dr Xi Shen, Dr Jiaao Hao and Dr Kam Ng on their experience in grant applications.
The discussion was fruitful and laid the foundation of strategic directions of the Department in the year ahead.
