Summary
Abstract
After more than 30 years of unremitting efforts, marked by the operation of BDS-3 since 2020, BDS has been established as a multifunctional modern satellite navigation system. Currently, BDS is one of the four global satellite navigation systems. This presentation introduces the latest progress of BDS-3, focusing on its evolution over the past 30 years, the current status of the distinctive BDS-3 constellation, the excellent performance of BDS-3's navigation signals and main services, some application highlights of BDS-3, as well as the future development prospects of BDS.
Speaker
Prof. Mingquan Lu is a Professor in the Department of Electronic Engineering at Tsinghua University. He directs the PNT Research Center, which develops GNSS and alternative PNT technologies. His current research focuses on GNSS signal processing, GNSS receiver development and emerging PNT technologies. He has authored or co-authored 5 books and book chapters, published over 450 journal and conference papers, and holds nearly 100 patents. He has provided numerous services to the GNSS community, including Associate Editor for Satellite Navigation and Journal of Navigation and Positioning. Prof. Lu is a fellow of ION, and a recipient of the ION Thurlow Award.
