Mr Chong Man Ho
Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Aviation Engineering, 2022
Mr CHONG Man Ho is a graduate of the Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Aviation Engineering at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, where he was recognized on the Dean’s Honours List for his academic excellence. He further pursued a Master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, supported by an Entrance Scholarship.
Upon completing his university studies, he joined the Cathay Pacific Cadet Pilot Programme, undergoing around 60 weeks of intensive ground and flight training at Flight Training Adelaide (FTA) to obtain his Commercial Pilot License. Mr CHONG currently serves as a Second Officer at Cathay Pacific Airways, operating the Boeing 777 fleet. In this role, he supports the safe and efficient operation of long-haul and ultra-long-haul flights, contributing to flight planning, navigation, system monitoring, and communication with Air Traffic Control (ATC), while maintaining the highest safety and professional standards.
During his academic journey, Mr CHONG achieved notable success, including publishing his Final Year Project research with his team in a Q1 journal. He also participated in various aviation-related programs such as the HKIE Aircraft Engineer Development Scheme (AEDS), the AIAA Design/Build/Fly (DBF) competition, and the Cathay Hackathon. These experiences have equipped him with a strong foundation in aviation operations, maintenance, and innovation. With a passion for aviation and a commitment to continuous learning, he strives to make impactful contributions to the aviation industry while inspiring future professionals.

Outstanding Young Alumni Award in Entrepreneurial Achievement of PolyU Department of Aeronautical and Aviation Engineering
Mr Lee Max Jwo Lem
Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Aviation Engineering, 2021
Mr Lee Max Jwo Lem, a graduate of the Bachelor of Engineering in Aviation Engineering at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, has demonstrated strong entrepreneurial skills. As the Co-Founder and CTO of Lifesparrow Solutions Limited, he developed an AI-based drone search and rescue platform, improving the operational efficiency of the Fire Service Department of Hong Kong.
Under his leadership, Lifesparrow Solutions integrated real-time data analysis and advanced imaging technologies into their SAR platform. This integration has set a new standard for emergency response operations. His work has improved the speed and efficiency of rescue missions and received media attention, including features on CNN International and the South China Morning Post. Additionally, Max was recognized in the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia list and has received awards such as the Champion of HK Techathon in Smart City, the Hong Kong University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition awards, and the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme Award.
Max is currently pursuing his PhD at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University under the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS). His research focuses on seamless positioning and smart city technologies. His work in technological innovation and public safety demonstrates his significant impact on his profession and alma mater.

Outstanding Young Alumni Award in Professional Achievement of PolyU Department of Aeronautical and Aviation Engineering
Ms YEUNG Ming Yee
Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Air Transport Engineering, 2019
Ms YEUNG Ming Yee is a graduate of Bachelor of Engineering in Air Transport Engineering at the erstwhile Interdisciplinary of Aeronautical and Aviation Engineering, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Upon completing her studies, she joined Hong Kong Express Airways as an Assistant Officer in Maintenance Control. Ms Yeung continues to grow and achieve various recognitions while working. She completed an Airbus Training in 2019 and all the required modules of HKAR-66 B1.1 Aircraft Maintenance License. She also completed the Base maintenance certifying engineer on A320/A321 - AIRBUS Training (2023).
She is now a Planning Engineer in Scheduling and Heavy Maintenance Operations with Cathay Pacific. Her role oversees the execution of aircraft heavy checks and manage offshore storage activities. Her duties include managing both short-term and long-term schedules for aircraft light and heavy maintenance plans, optimizing the planned maintenance packages to ensure maximum aircraft availability while complying with regulatory requirements, as well as developing budget models using historical data to forecast aircraft maintenance costs.
Throughout her academic and professional journey, Ms YEUNG has demonstrated a strong commitment to both her industry and community. She was the PolyU student leader in organizing an aviation ramp safety event in collaboration with her AAE peers and the Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (HACTL) while pursuing her bachelor’s degree. With her professional expertise, she not only continuously supports the Department by serving as an alumni representative on different occasions, but also provides valuable guidance on career planning and inspires the current students.

Outstanding Young Alumni Award in Community Service Achievement of PolyU Department of Aeronautical and Aviation Engineering
Ms LO Xian Lin
Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Aviation Engineering, 2020
Ms LO Xian Lin is a graduate of Bachelor of Engineering in Aviation Engineering at the erstwhile Interdisciplinary of Aeronautical and Aviation Engineering, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. After graduation, she joined Jardine Aviation Services as a Management Trainee, with diverse roles and responsibilities in the company. After serving as an Integrated Operations Centre Controller who oversees the day-to-day service delivery operations of the company, Ms Lo is currently managing contracts as a Commercial specialist.
With great enthusiasm and kindness, Ms Lo began her journey in community service by participating in various volunteer works internationally when doing her bachelor’s degree. Ranging from voluntary teaching in Yunnan to installing solar panels in a Cambodian school, she is deeply committed to promoting the wellbeing of the communities. Finding great value in empowering the less-fortunes to transform their lives, she continues to contribute the society by volunteering and managing a number of charity events, including MINDSET Jardine’s Bread Rescue in September 2021, ImpackHK Private Walk in September 2021, and World Human Trafficking Day EdenHK Pop-Up Store on 30 July 2021.
