Biography

Ms Vera Lam graduated with a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and obtained her master’s degree in applied psychology from City University of Hong Kong. She specialises in psychiatry and has provided recovery-oriented services in public hospitals for more than 15 years.


Ms Lam has extensive clinical experience in different fields including general and community psychiatry, psychogeriatrics, substance abuse, and cognitive assessment and rehabilitation. Before joining PolyU, she was the OT service team leader at a Common Mental Disorder Clinic and a Substance Abuse Clinic, as well as the project leader of a research project sponsored by the Beat Drugs Fund Association, Narcotics Division, Security Bureau, The HKSAR Government. Ms Lam is also active in promoting and providing recovery-oriented mental health services.
