PolyU rises to record-high 54th position in latest QS World University Rankings
PolyU has reinforced its position as a global leader in academic and research excellence by achieving a remarkable result in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings 2026. In the latest announcement from QS, the University attained 54th place globally – a record-high and an increase of three positions from the previous year. This recognition reflects PolyU’s reputation as a world-class university, emphasising its ongoing impact and achievements in the higher education sector.
The Rankings evaluated more than 1,500 universities across 106 countries and regions worldwide based on nine indicators. PolyU performed exceptionally in several of these, ranking first in Hong Kong for “International Research Network” and third for “Citations per Faculty”, both of which are research-related indicators. The University also ranked third in Hong Kong for “Sustainability”, affirming its commitment to promoting sustainable development.
