The University established the PolyU Artists’ Alliance earlier this year to enhance the PolyU community’s appreciation for art and culture. Dr Joseph S.P. Ting, one of the members of the Alliance, PolyU Historian-in-Residence and former Chief Curator of the Hong Kong Museum of History (2nd from right), introduced the first programme “Hong Kong People's Ancestral Origins: Guangzhou” to PolyU students and staff on 19 September, aiming to deepen their understanding of the Chinese history and culture.

During the talk, Dr Ting shed light on the close relationship between Guangzhou and Hong Kong from historical and geographical perspectives and explored the historical stories of Guangzhou together with Dr Liza Wang, the Convenor of the Alliance (centre).

Coming up, Dr Ting will be leading a group of PolyU students and staff to embark on a Historical Exploration to Guangzhou.
