摘要

Wind energy is a vital renewable resource for sustainable urban development, particularly in coastal cities like Hong Kong with abundant offshore potential. However, offshore wind turbines are exposed to harsh environmental conditions and frequent severe weather, such as typhoons, making them prone to various faults. Their remote locations further complicate cost-effective monitoring and maintenance.

In this research salon, Prof. ZHOU will present the first annual progress of his project, which aims to develop a unified, uncertainty-aware framework for comprehensive fault diagnosis, prognosis, and service life forecasting of offshore wind turbines using advanced vision-based measurement techniques.
