My journey at the Department of Land Surveying and Geo-informatics (LSGI) has been extraordinarily fruitful. The enriching courses provide a solid foundation in land surveying and geographic information systems, equipping students with the essential knowledge for success in the field. Laboratory sessions and fieldwork offer valuable hands-on experience in manipulating advanced technologies.

One of the most unforgettable experiences was participating in a study tour organised by LSGI. I witnessed the practical applications of theories I had learned during class and cutting-edge concepts regarding smart cities in Tokyo, Japan. This programme has not only broadened my horizons but also inspired me to adopt innovative strategies according to local contexts.

Moreover, the off-campus survey camps are challenging yet rewarding. These trainings have enabled me to apply classroom knowledge to real-world scenarios and foster collaboration with my peers in complicated environments. These opportunities have significantly stimulated my interpersonal growth, such as teamwork and problem-solving skills. 

The faculty is committed to creating a harmonious and scholarly atmosphere. Students are encouraged to engage in diverse activities, including local and overseas internship and study programmes, to widen their global perspectives and prepare for the future. The staff at LSGI are exceptionally supportive. They are always ready to help students overcome academic challenges.

As a graduate in Land Surveying and Geo-Informatics at LSGI, I am excited to share how this programme has shaped my academic journey and personal growth. Being the only department in Hong Kong offering specialised qualifications in geomatics, LSGI provides a dynamic and innovative learning environment that seamlessly integrates traditional surveying methods with advanced technologies.
