On 16 Aug 2021, Ir Dr Wallace Lai, Associate Professor and Associate Head of LSGI, was invited by Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) to give a CPD webinar on “Technical seminar on underground utility surveys based on non-destructive testing, survey and imaging” at HKIE Office.

The talk encompasses the underground utility surveys based on non-destructive testing, survey and imaging. The main theme is about a set of six specifications (pipe cable locating, ground penetrating radar, visual inspection, LiDAR, acoustic leak detection and flow monitoring for drains/sewers) to be used as a basis of HOKLAS accreditation by Hong Kong Accreditation Services under the ‘Construction Materials’ category. The speaker will introduce the 4M1E (man/woman, materials, machine, methods and environment) in these six specifications.  Over 150 audience attended it physically or via online channel.
