PolyU LSGI STEM Talk is open for application now! 


The Department of Land Surveying and Geo-Informatics (LSGI) is holding a STEM Talk Series introducing the daily life applications and potential development of Geo-Informatics, including Land Surveying, Remote Sensing, Global Positioning System (GPS), Underground Utilities Imaging and Diagnosis and Geographic Information Science (GIS). We are glad to invite you to join our STEM Talk Series 2021/22: 

 

STEM Talk Series Topics

  • 3D Mapping Beyond the Earth: Why and How? (越測越離地:用衛星帶你上火星)
  • Smart City and 3D Mapping in HK (智慧城巿及三維地圖的應用)
  • Seeing and Unseen Underground Utilities in 3D (三維地下管線測量)
  • IoT and Remote Sensing for Tree Monitoring (如何利用IoT及遙感技術監測城市樹木)
  • History of Land Surveying in HK: from Past to Now (土地測量的今昔)

 

Date: until July 2022 (To be suggested by school)

Target Audience: F. 2 - 6 students (both Art and Science students are welcome)

Medium: Cantonese or English

Venue: Secondary school / PolyU*

Speaker: Academic staff of LSGI

*Lab tour and demonstration will be arranged for visit to PolyU.
