The Translational Startup Postdoc Programme (“the Programme”) aims to foster research-based entrepreneurship and empower recent doctoral graduates to become “Technopreneurs”- individuals who combine technological expertise with entrepreneurial skills to commercialise research outputs and create impact on society.
The Programme is open to recent doctoral graduates from around the world who possess a strong passion for and vision of commercialising research technologies through startup ventures.
Benefits and Support
- Annual remuneration package of up to HK$348,000
- Research funding for prototyping and testing (a maximum of HK$50,000 per year)
- Support for travel and participation in outreach activities (including passage, meals, accommodation, local transportation, and registration fees) (a maximum of HK$15,000 per year)
- Free workspace at InnoHub (PolyU, Shenzhen, or MTRIs/MTRC)

- Dual mentorship – academic and industrial
- Comprehensive entrepreneurship development support provided by KTEO, MTRIs, MTRC of PolyU
- Connection to investor and industry network
- Pipeline to funding schemes, investment or incubation programmes of PolyU or other incubators
Notes:
- The Online Briefing Session will be conducted online via ZOOM. Successful registrants will receive a confirmation email with the web link and password for the briefing session.
- This briefing session will be recorded for the purpose of keeping internal record and the recording may be made available to the Knowledge Transfer and Entrepreneurship Office (KTEO) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University only. The recorded images will be handled by KTEO according to the prevailing policy of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
