Microsoft Copilot Chat released additional OpenAI reasoning models for Copilot Chat users. These include GPT-5.5 Think Deeper and Quick Response models. All staff and students can use these AI models to carry out research and analysis. Use of Copilot Chat is free and will not consume your monthly credit entitlement.
New Agent Apps: Word (Agent), PowerPoint (Agent), Excel (Agent) in M365 Copilot Chat
All staff and students can now create powerful reports, presentation decks, and worksheets using Word, PowerPoint, and Excel agents.
These dedicated agents leverage OpenAI deep reasoning models to generate high-quality PowerPoint presentations, Word documents and Excel files based on your uploaded content and input prompts. We encourage staff and students to try these Office document creation agents, which will enhance your efficiency.
How to install Word (Agent), PowerPoint (Agent), Excel (Agent)
Step 1: Two ways to access M365 Copilot Chat:
1. M365 Copilot Chat
Go to M365 Copilot Chat via https://copilot.cloud.microsoft/ and sign in with your M365 work or school account
- Staff: netid@polyu.edu.hk
- Student: netid@connect.polyu.hk
2. PolyU Gen AI
Go to PolyU Gen AI, select Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat and sign in with your M365 work or school account
- Staff: netid@polyu.edu.hk
- Student: netid@connect.polyu.hk
Step 2: Go to All agents and search for Word (Agent), PowerPoint (Agent), or Excel (Agent).
Step 3: Click Add to install the agent apps in your work account.
Step 4: After installation, you can click the installed agent and start creating PowerPoint presentations, Word documents, and Excel files using natural language.
You can also pin the agent so that it appears at the top of the toolbar.

You can use this agent to create well-structed document from uploaded files.

You can use this agent to generate a 10-slide presentation deck with visuals from a comprehensive Word document.
