GenAI App Deep Research tool updates | Information Technology Services Office

Starting from 1 May 2026, Internet Search queries will no longer consume user credits. Consequently, the overall credit consumption for a complete Deep Research process will be significantly reduced.

This cost reduction will allow users to make better use of their credit entitlement, enabling more frequent analysis with the Deep Research tool on the PolyU GenAI App.

A preview release of the Deep Research Tool, using the Qwen3.6-Plus-Thinking (2026-04-02) model as a judge, will be available to all staff and students from 1 May 2026.
