A number of University websites, including the ITS Website, the Health, Safety and Environment Office Website and the PolyU Green Concepts Website, have won the ‘Triple Gold Award’ in the Web Accessibility Recognition Scheme 18/19.
The event is organised by the Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation Limited and co-organised by the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer, with the Equal Opportunities Commission as independent advisor.
It is open to all local companies, non-government/quasi-government organizations, and academia, to encourage adoption of websites and mobile apps accessibility to facilitate access to online information and services by all segments of the community including persons with disabilities. The ‘Triple Gold Award’ is granted to websites/apps that have won the ‘Gold Award’ for at least three consecutive years.
The award is a reflection of the University’s effort in adopting accessibility design in website development projects. Representatives of the award-winning departments attended the Awards Presentation Ceremony held on 26 June 2018.
