Student Identity

- Manage IT Account

The PolyU NetID is your unique online identity on the University’s central computer systems. Your NetID is pre-defined to be the same as your Student No., but with the last alphabetic character in the lower case (e.g. Student ID: 22123456D, NetID: 22123456d).

  • If you want to change NetPassword, click here.
  • If you want to reset NetPassword in case you have forgotten it, click here.

O365 applications

With your connect account, you may enjoy a list of O365 services while you are studying at PolyU.

- Email Service

All PolyU students receive a lifelong account on the PolyU Connect Email Service, which remains accessible even after graduation. This service can be accessed at any time, from anywhere, using a web browser and your PolyU Connect Login ID (@connect.polyu.hk). As an account holder, you will have access to a range of Office 365 services during your study at PolyU. For more details, click here.


- O365 OneDrive

The cloud-based OneDrive folder allows you to share files and content with classmates for collaborative projects and remote learning.

 

- MS Teams

Teams is a collaboration tool that offers chat, file sharing, and meetings for team members. It brings together people, conversations, files, and tools in one place for effective collaboration. Teams can be accessed via browser, desktop client, and mobile apps.

 

- M365 Copilot Chat

M365 Copilot Chat replaces Copilot with Bing and supports text-to-text messaging, along with the ability to upload files or images for text conversion. All PolyU students can leverage M365 Copilot Chat via the PolyU GenAI app, or by accessing it directly through the browser at https://www.microsoft365.com/chat.

 

 

Wi-Fi Service

Wi-Fi connectivity is available throughout the PolyU campus including all general teaching rooms and lecture theatres, Library, canteens, sports centres, podium areas, etc. You may connect your mobile device to the PolyUWLAN or eduroam wireless network on campus. The 'eduroam' wireless network is also available at local and overseas institutions.
Through collaboration with local wireless service providers including Y5ZONE and CSL, you can also enjoy free Internet connectivity at thousands of hotspots at public places in Hong Kong.

 

 

PolyU GenAI App

To foster student engagement with AI in both learning and research, ITS has launched an app designed to provide effective tools that enhance studies and projects.

Our services include intelligent chatbots, professional writing, text summarization, language translation, code generation, and intelligent search powered by ChatGPT and M365 Copilot Chat. We also provide inference chat services using open-source large language models, including Alibaba Tongyi Qianwen, DeepSeek, Hunyuan, Mistral AI Mixtral, Meta Llama, Stable Diffusion, and Flux.

PolyU Student Mobile App - PolyULife

PolyULife is a native mobile app, which facilitates students the access of essential information for study such as personal class and exam timetable, payment due date, study information and push notifications to support students’ studies at PolyU.
Students can find a list of useful online resources to various student-related applications in this mobile app including classroom booking enquiry, eStudent, Library, PolyU Online Student Services (POSS), Scholarship, Job Board and etc.

Student Resources & Support

  • eStudent

    For checking your personal information, subject registration, class and exam timetables, academic advice,
    assessment results, graduation applications, congregation bookings and etc: eStudent.

 

  • Student Computer Centre (SCC)
    The Student Computer Centre (SCC) is located on the 4th floor of the Li Ka Shing Tower where over 200 PCs are accommodated for student use. You may access a wide range of commonly used software, print and scan your coursework at SCC, or even remotely access the software applications in SCC through Virtual Student Computer Centre (vSCC).   • Software tools for Students
    You will find essential software applications designed to enhance your academic experience. From collaboration tools to productivity suites, these resources will help you manage your studies effectively. Click here for details.

 

  • Screen Sharing

    The student BYOD screen sharing function allows students to easily share their device screens to the projection screen or LED display in teaching venues. Enhance classroom collaboration by presenting ideas, projects, or resources in real-time, fostering interactive learning experiences.

 

 

  • IT Support for Research

    There is a wide range of services and platforms to support students’ computational need of their projects/ research works, such as Student High Performance Computing (HPC), GitLab service, training workshops on programming language and data visualization tools.
