Alessandro Paparelli

Alessandro Paparelli is based in Hong Kong and responsible for the whole spectrum of HR activities at Kering Asia Pacific in Asia including Japan.

He previously worked at Salvatore Ferragamo for about 10 years as Regional Executive Director HR & Organization for Asia, after a career at EOS Management Consulting and in an academy at the Bocconi University of Milan, where he also graduated.

He sits on various advisory boards of the most prestigious academic institutions in Asia, is extensively involved in publishing work as a columnist and author, and an active speaker in the conference circuit.

He co-founded an NGO on water-related projects that operates in Mali, Africa. His personal interests include researching and practicing music. He is also an avid independent traveler.

     
  Blondie Tsang

Blondie Tsang, who joined CÉLINE Hong Kong in 2013,  oversees business in the Asia Pacific region including network upgrades, opening a new market (Australia), buying back franchises (Singapore) and new store openings, and at the same time, improving customer experiences and retail excellence through locally derived customer relationship programs, training and retail operation initiatives.  At the global level, she supports assortment ranging and buying in the acting capacity of Global Head of Retail Merchandising. 

After graduating from the Hong Kong Baptist University with a major in English Literature, Blondie started her career as Assistant Buyer with the Lane Crawford Group in 1992.

Over her career with the Lane Crawford Group, Blondie enjoyed substantial success in various projects including launching On Pedder and Pedder Red, opening Lane Crawford Beijing and overseeing the regional expansion to China and South-East Asia.

     
 

Professor Calvin W.K. Wong

Professor Calvin W.K. Wong is currently serving as Discipline Leader of the Fashion Retail and Marketing specialism.

While his areas of research range from computer vision to artificial intelligence with applications in the textile and fashion business, Professor Wong’s main research focus is on image feature extraction, pattern recognition and deep learning in a big data environment. One of his recent research projects is collaborating with online fashion platforms for enhancing the image searching accuracy of fashion merchandise and improving cross-selling and up-selling performances by providing online users with mix and match advice. 

Professor Wong has published over 100 research articles in Science Citation Index journals of which most are world-leading and high-impact top-tier journals. Essential Science Indicators has recently ranked two of his research publications in IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems among the top 1% of the most cited articles. Professor Wong has authored and edited three books on the integration of artificial intelligence techniques in the fashion industry, including the first-two-ever on the topics of “Optimising Decision Making in the Apparel Supply Chain Using Artificial Intelligence: From Production to Retailing” and “Applications of Computer Vision in Fashion and Textiles”.

     
 

Eugene Leung

Eugene Leung is a fashion brand founder, creative director, curator and musician who takes an unorthodox approach in his work.

After graduating from the University of New South Wales in Architecture, Eugene turned his attention to sub-culture and incorporated it into his own fashion label INJURY. He launched his debut collection [What lies beneath] at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia in 2005. He has participated in numerous fashion weeks across the globe, and his SS17 and AW16 collections were shown during on-schedule Paris Fashion Week shows.

Eugene’s designs are heavily influenced by his passion of toys from the 80s, sci-fi TV series and road movies, rock music and alternative culture. His collections are sold to over 80 selected retailers worldwide, including Harvey Nichols, I.T, D-mop and Alter Style.

Well recognized in the fashion industry, Eugene was invited to speak at Business of Design Week 2015, take part in the judging panel for PolyU Fashion Shows and act as one of the panelists for an exclusive round table discussion with Iris Apfel in 2017. 
     
 

Jimmy Chan

With over 15 years of buying experience since he graduated from the Faculty of Business at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2001, Jimmy Chan has served as Buyer for various international brands and fashion groups, including Lane Crawford, Gucci and Canali, as well as Merchandising Manager for The SWANK.

In line with the e-commerce trend, Jimmy joined JD.com in 2015 as Business Development Manager for Fashion. In 2016, he joined Farfetch and is responsible for business in the Asia Pacific region. In the same year, Jimmy received his Master of Business Administration from the University of Hong Kong.

     
 

Morgan Tan

President

Born in Taiwan, Morgan moved to the US at the age of 2, growing up in four cities before turning 18.  After receiving her degree in Textiles Science, she returned to Taiwan and began her retail career as a visual merchandiser in fashion.  

In 2003, she moved to Hong Kong and joined the Lane Crawford Joyce Group, where she held multiple roles within the Group, including Director of Beauty Division, and VP of the E-commerce Business Department and Lab Concept.  

Morgan returned to the brand side when she was appointed as President of Shiseido Hong Kong in 2015 and has since then led the company to be one of the Group’s most successful and profitable affiliates. Morgan was recently selected as one of Hong Kong’s Top 50 Innovation Retail Leaders in 2017 and featured in Elle’s 30th Anniversary Edition.

Seeing herself as a “people-builder”, Morgan believes in building businesses regardless whether they are start-ups or MNCs by growing people. Success comes from managing collective values, knowledge, skills, life experiences, and motivation of people in an organization. Over the past 25 years of work, she has gone from managing businesses to leading people - these experiences have culminated a greater understanding of herself and her impact on others.

Kim Wong

Kim Wong is a luxury retail executive with an exceptional understanding of the critical market drivers in the retail industry. With more than 20 years of experience in retail management, Kim has an outstanding track record as a leader in building businesses in both the Asia Pacific region and the USA for renowned international retailers, including the DFS Group, Burberry and Lane Crawford. More recently, she was Chief Operating Officer of The Swank Shop (Hong Kong and China), as well as Managing Director of Brunello Cucinelli Hong Kong.

Kim joined ITC in January 2017 as Professor of Practice with the focus to cultivate the abilities of ITC students by providing them with the most contemporary knowledge and skills for the retail industry, develop internship programs with international retail leaders in Hong Kong, China and the Asia Pacific, extend ITC’s network throughout the retail industry, and co-chair the establishment of the ITC fashion store.
