The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) is committed to fostering an international and diverse learning environment, attracting students from around the world to study and develop in Hong Kong. With a generous donation from the Tan Siu Lin Foundation (the Foundation), the Tan Siu Lin Foundation Belt-and-Road Entry Scholarship (the Scholarship) has been established to support outstanding students from Belt and Road countries and regions pursuing undergraduate studies at PolyU’s School of Fashion and Textiles and School of Hotel and Tourism Management.
PolyU arranged a sharing session for the Tan Siu Lin Foundation Belt-and-Road Entry Scholarship. It brought together Dr Henry Tan, Vice-Chairman of the Foundation, Mrs Joise Tan, Managing Director of the Foundation, Mrs Jennifer Su Tan, Executive Director of the Foundation, Ms Connie Hui, Senior Director of Family Office, President Professor Jin-Guang Teng, Dr Laura Lo, Associate Vice President (Institutional Advancement), Professor Erin Cho, Dean of the School of Fashion and Textiles, Professor Catherine Cheung, Associate Dean (Student Development and Institutional Advancement) of the School of Hotel and Tourism Management, and the scholarship awardees. The awardees shared their academic journeys, illustrating the direct impact of the scholarship on their university experience.
As a token of gratitude, a special mosaic artwork assembled by the scholarship awardees was presented to the Foundation. The mosaic was created by the four awardees using over 14,000 individual pieces. In addition, the awardees prepared a handmade journal featuring heartfelt, handwritten messages and reflections from each of them.
