The dinner also featured Prof. Christopher CHAO, Senior Vice President (Research and Innovation), as facilitator, leading a dialogue on key impactful research projects. Three long-standing supporters of the University—Ir Dr Otto Poon Lok-to, Dr Roy Chung Chi-ping, and Mr Yeung Fan—shared their motivations and valuable experiences in supporting PolyU’s research initiatives across diverse fields, including environmental climate, biomedical engineering, and AI-driven fashion design in the Greater Bay Area. The dialogue also explored visions for research innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, real-world application, and social impact.

“Research is not only about innovation, but also responsibility.” The University remains committed to its mission, actively promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and nurturing talent. PolyU Foundation Deputy Chairman, Prof. Alex Wong, joined President Teng in presenting souvenirs as a token of appreciation to donors at the dinner, once again expressing sincere thanks for their generous and long-term support.

Looking ahead, PolyU will continue to leverage its unique strengths by aligning pioneering research capabilities with industry needs, driving technology transfer, and optimising the research ecosystem. By fostering interdisciplinary and cross-sector collaboration, PolyU aims to transform technologies into practical real-world applications, making positive contributions to society through innovation.
