Empowering Top-Minds, Transforming Tomorrow

The Named Professorship Scheme and Named Young Scholars Scheme represent a unique opportunity for philanthropists to partner with PolyU in advancing academic excellence and innovation. Through these Schemes, eminent academics receive vital support and recognition to conduct pioneering research with the potential to positively change the world. The objectives of the Schemes are:

  • To provide research funding for researchers to embark on ground-breaking discoveries
  • To attract and retain top-tier scholars from around the world
  • To honour eminent scholars for their exceptional academic and research achievements

Your Gift Shapes the Future

The standard term of appointment for both Named Professor and Named Young Scholar is 5 years. An annual funding will be allocated to support appointees’ academic and research endeavours.

Appreciation and Recognition

Donors will be regularly updated on the research progress and academic achievements of the appointee they support. The appointee will carry the Named Professor or Named Young Scholar title, preceded by the donor's (or an honoree’s) name, on all formal occasions where appropriate.
