The world’s first anti-virus 3D printing material developed by a PolyU interdisciplinary research team was featured on the RTHK TV programme, Anti-epidemic News Express, broadcast yesterday (25 March).

According to Dr. Kwan Yu Chris Lo, Associate Professor of PolyU’s Institute of Textiles and Clothing (ITC), and Prof. Chi-wai Kan of ITC, the material can eliminate over 90% of bacteria and viruses, including COVID-19, within 10 minutes, and terminate almost all in 20 minutes.

Mr Alfred Sit, the Secretary for Innovation and Technology, said he was happy to see the material has achieved a huge success with the support from the Public Sector Trial Scheme.
