Ideation Funding Scheme is a funding initiative as one of the key entrepreneurship education components at PolyU which aims to instil a problem-driven innovation mindset into young talents through experiential learning and student-initiated research and development.

Quick Fact

 Eligibility  Current undergraduate or taught postgraduate students
 (including taught doctoral degree) forming a team with a maximum of 5 members 
 Prize  HK$5,000 per team, distributed to student teams by KTEO directly
 Quota  20 quotas per faculty/school 
 Application  Student teams should submit a pitch deck (PPT/PDF within 15 pages) and present their idea to the
 Judging Panel.
 Assessment Criteria

 • Innovativeness (40%)
 • Business Development Potential (20%)
 • Research & Development (20%)
 • Team Competency (20%)
       

      Timeline

       December 2025 to March 2026
      		  Call for applications
       Late April 2026*  Submission deadline for student teams
       Early May 2026*  Presentation to the Judging Panel 
       May to June 2026  KTEO to contact the successful student teams and arrange prize distribution/presentation
      *Date to be announced by respective department
