Introduction:

The use of eye-tracking technology is widespread in language science research. The study of eye gaze offers unique opportunities to discover how information is translated across cognitive domains and link visual perceptual experiences to linguistic cognitive processes. This workshop provides a brief introduction on how this technique is used in the research of CBS scholars from the areas of Linguistics/Psycholinguistics, Translation & Interpretation, and Psychology/Conceptual Representation.  The three speakers will each present a short case to illustrate the kind of research questions that can be answered through eye-tracking. A Q & A session will follow to allow participants to interact with the speakers and gain insights into the strengths and challenges of this methodology.
