Orientation_760x430As the new academic year begins, the Faculty of Humanities and its Departments hosted orientation events in late August to extend a warm welcome to the newest members of the FH community. We wish all our new students a fulfilling and memorable start to their studies at PolyU, and every success as they embrace new possibilities, build meaningful connections and make the most of their university experience.

 


ACHIEVEMENTS

Scheme for Research on Enhancing Second Language Interactional Competence

Renia HSSPFS_760x430Prof. Renia Lopez, Assistant Dean of the Faculty and Associate Professor of the Department of English and Communication, has been awarded the Research Grants Council’s Humanities and Social Sciences Prestigious Fellowship Scheme. This fellowship recognises her outstanding academic contributions and will support her cutting-edge project, titled “The Impact of Video-Mediated Communication on Multimodal Disfluency and Interactional Management in Second Language English Speakers.” Click HERE to read more.


WONG CH_GBA Young Leader_760x430-01Mr Wong Chung Ho, a PhD student in the Division of Artificial Intelligence and the Humanities (AIH), has been recognised in the 20th Greater Bay Area Young Leaders Selection.

Organised by the Junior Chamber International Hong Kong Harbour (JCI Hong Kong Harbour), the Greater Bay Area Young Leaders Selection recognises outstanding young leaders who have demonstrated excellence in leadership, professional achievement, and community service. The programme aims to foster cross-sector collaboration and exchange among emerging leaders across the Greater Bay Area.

Mr Wong's achievement reflects his commitment to education, youth development, and community engagement. AIH extends its heartfelt congratulations to Mr Wong on this outstanding achievement and wishes him continued success in his academic and professional endeavours. Click HERE to read more.
