He was appointed as Artistic Director and Conductor of PolyU Orchestra in 2016 and a University Fellowship was conferred on him in 2022.

Leung’s outstanding music achievements have won him many awards, including First Prize at the Young Artist Competition in New York, Second Prize at the 19th William Primrose International Viola Competition, and the Artist of the Year (Music) award in 2014 under the aegis of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council. To pass on his musical vision, Mr Leung has designed a series of interactive events to inspire participants and provide opportunities to acquire know-how on music appreciation through first-hand experience.

The finale of this programme is a magnificent concert Ode to Joy. Mr Leung will lead the PolyU Orchestra with the PolyU Choir to perform the whole of Beethoven’s Symphony No 9, the pinnacle of Beethoven’s work and probably the most recognizable piece of classical music.
