In support of the Hong Kong Government’s global “Study in Hong Kong” campaign, the Chinese Language Centre and Confucius Institute of Hong Kong at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University co-hosted the “Discover Chinese New Year: 2026 Spring Festival and Lantern Festival Cultural Experience” on 26 February 2026.
International students gathered at the Hong Kong Confucius Institute to immerse themselves in Chinese culture and traditions. Through a series of interactive activities—including Chinese calligraphy, paper-cutting art, Hanfu try-ons, language games, and festive refreshments—students explored the rich heritage of the Spring Festival and Lantern Festival.
Ir Professor Mui Kwok Wai, Dean of Students at the Student Affairs Office; Dr. Gao Xiaoping, Director of the Chinese Language Centre; and Dr. Lu Qiaomei, Director of the Confucius Institute of Hong Kong, attended the celebration, engaging with international students and sharing in the joy of these traditional festivals.
