Introduction:

Being polite is one of the most important principles of language communication.

The ways to be polite in Chinese language communication will be explored from four levels:

1. Lexical level
2. Sentence level
3. Logical level
4. Cultural level

Each of the above levels will be illustrated with functional examples in this workshop.
