Summary

Balancing work and family life is never easy, and effective parenting begins with open communication and guidance. This lunchtime talk, co-organised by the Alumni Affairs Office and the Federation of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Alumni Associations, will explore practical parenting approaches for working parents, with a focus on strengthening parent-child communication and family relationships. It aims to help parents maintain  positive family atmosphere and support their children’s development amid academic challenges and demands.

Our keynote speaker, Mrs Bally Wong, has over 20 years of experience in educational administration and management. Since founding her first English school in 2002, she has been advocating the “happy learning” philosophy, with a vision of making Hong Kong a city of joyful learning. She is actively involved in charitable and community service, and has maintained close communication and collaboration with various school sponsoring bodies, government departments and corporate partners over the years to promote positive parenting exchange and training initiatives. She also runs Facebook and YouTube channels, where she shares a wide range of content on parenting and positive education.

Bally will highlight the challenges and strategies of modern family relationships, and share how working parents can strengthen family bonds between parents and children despite their busy lives. She will also offer professional advice on how parents can provide appropriate and meaningful support for their children’s growth. This talk is designed for working parent, educators, and all those concerned about family well-being.
