- 学生在修毕第一年课程后，学系会根据学生对主修课程的选择﹑其成绩及面试表现等进行评核，从而决定学生其后所入读的主修课程。
- 如学生不选择修读以上五个专业课程，会获颁授时装(荣誉) 文学士学位。
- 学生可同时修读创新及创业或人工智能及数据分析为副主修，唯其入学可能需要通过甄选，并有不同的科目及毕业要求。详情请见「副主修」部分。
- 选择副主修课程的学生会获颁时装(荣誉)文学士，不会主修专业。
- 本学院除了提供入学奖学金给成绩优异的学生外，学生还有机会获本学院提名其他奖学金，详情请参阅此连结资料。理大有权更改上述奖学金条款或取消奖学金。如有任何争议或分歧，理大保留最终决定权。

课程宗旨及学习成果
时装是香港重要的出口产业。业界对时装设计、产品开发、市场推广及营销、零售等行业的专才均需求殷切。本学系提供全港唯一政府资助的学士学位课程，其独特之处在于课程全面而实用，涵盖纺织及时装学科的所有内容， 并紧贴行业发展的步伐，能够满足业界的要求。
本课程理论与实践并重，旨在培养学生的分析能力、创新意念及解决问题的技能，令学生的潜质得以全面发挥，使其成为行业专才，积极投身时装业，应对行业面临的新挑战。通过修读本课程，学生对时装行业将会有深入的了解，全面掌握有关的专业知识和技术，并于毕业后在相关的工作领域能学以致用，发挥所长。
课程特色
本课程包括五个专业：
时装设计专业
本专业锐意培育学生的创意和设计技巧，并让他们认识与时装有关的新兴技术，以及提升他们对业界市场及商业实务的理解。
针织时装设计专业
本专业结合了创意设计和最新的针织技术。为了配合业界需要，本课程提供最新颖的针织机器以供学生练习。除了课堂学习之外，学生也会被安排与针织厂家和相关商家共同合作，以培育有国际视野的高素质针织设计人才。
内衣及运动服装专业
学生可以学习到有关内衣及运动服装的基本学术和实践知识，包括设计和技术方面的整合，并可从中掌握到最新技术、现代材料和工业实务的第一手经验。本专业为学生提供设备完善和具启发性的学习环境，培养他们灵活运用分析和解决问题的能力，创作出具想象力的设计作品。课堂透过全方位的教学，本专业不但培育学生的道德观、正向态度和积极学习态度，还培养他们具备国际视野和文化欣赏能力，让他们随时掌握行业的最新资讯，与内衣及运动服装行业接轨。
时装商务专业
本专业不但介绍时装商务的基本原则、现代业务运作及管理技巧，也着重培养学生在时装零售及市场营销方面界定、分析和解决营商问题的能力，更教授学生如何从事本地及国际时装采购、市场研究、品牌管理、商店管理和时装产品分销。
时装创新及科技专业
本专业教授学生关于时装产品和生产过程的知识，以及这些知识在技术、经济、管理和商业方面的应用，从而培养学生成为时装产品开发、技术创新和生产管理的行业领导者。
如学生不选择修读以上五个专业课程，学生会获颁时装(荣誉)文学士学位，不会主修专业。
专业认可
毕业学员如具备两年相关工作经验, 可申请成为英国纺织学会会员及香港纺织及服装学会的学位会员 [Associateship of the Textile Institute (ATI), UK, and Graduate Membership of the Hong Kong Institution of Textile and Apparel (GHKITA)] 。
就业前景
本学院一直以来为社会培养了大量素质高、备受雇主赞誉的毕业生。本学院大部分毕业生均投身时装及纺织或相关行业，包括时装及纺织品设计、产品开发、生产管理、品质控制、推广及营销、贸易、采办及零售等不同领域的工作。在业界前辈的领导和毕业生的努力下，香港已经发展成为世界著名的成衣采购及时装商务中心。现时于时装及纺织业从事采购营销，时装商务及技术工作的人士，大部分均曾就读本系提供的全日制或兼读制课程。
本课程是全日制时装学位课程。课程包括五个专业：时装设计、针织时装设计、内衣及运动服装、时装商务和时装创新及科技。如学生不选择修读以上五个专业课程，会获颁授时装(荣誉) 文学士学位。
首二个学期，主要让学生了解整个时装行业的生产和运作，在打好基础后，学生便可选择专业方向。随后的六个学期，学生将在自己所选的专业领域作深入的学习，同时也可选读其他辅助学科以扩充知识、开阔视野和提高自身的竞争力。
在上述学习阶段，学生除了可在与本专业相关的机构实习外，还有机会到海外大学作交换生，修读一个学期或一个学年，同时也有机会参加本地或国际大型时装比赛和展览。
修读服装及纺织(荣誉)文学士学位组合课程的学生可修读以下其中一个副主修课程：

遴选标准
副主修课程的选项为非强制性的, 只有成绩平均绩点为2.70 或以上的学生可考虑修读副主修课程。每个副主修课程可能设有额外的遴选标准。学生必须于第二学年开始前提交申请，并获得提供课程的学系批准, 才可修读副主修课程。
学分要求
修读创新及创业副主修课程的时装文学士的学生须完成138个学分, 以达毕业要求。
修读人工智能及数据分析副主修课程的时装文学士的学生须完成133个学分, 以达毕业要求。

- 申请人必须在应届高考获得优异的成绩，当中包括良好的英语成绩。

Unlike other schools, SFT offers numerous laboratory sessions, which allowed me to put into practice the knowledge acquired in regular lectures, such as how to operate equipment like projectile weaving machines and design patterns for garments.
I am very grateful for the opportunities offered by SFT, which opened my eyes. I took a 2-month course at the University of British Columbia thanks to the Undergraduate Student Research Awards scholarship offered by PolyU’s Graduate School. Additionally, the extensive industry networks with renowned brands and retailers, such as Lane Crawford, Farfetch, and FR2, helped me find good internship opportunities.
My time at SFT was both challenging and rewarding. I learnt various practical skills and had the opportunity to express my creativity and collaborate with other students from different cultures and backgrounds there. The School also offered me many valuable opportunities, such as an internship at MCM, a global fashion brand. During this internship, I applied my knowledge and experience and gained invaluable insight into the current trends and challenges of the fashion industry. I also participated in a study tour, which allowed me to learn about the production process and the most advanced technologies in clothing. The opportunities offered by SFT have equipped me with a solid foundation for my future endeavours.
PolyU stood out when I was choosing a university because of its outstanding reputation, recognition, and commitment to providing high-quality education. Choosing fashion design at SFT as my major aligns perfectly with my career aspirations, as SFT offers a comprehensive and industry-relevant curriculum. The state-of-the-art facilities and experienced professors have played a pivotal role in shaping my academic journey.
Studying at SFT has been enriching, providing me with an in-depth understanding of fashion design, garment construction, and textile technology. Engaging lectures, practical workshops, and hands-on projects have sharpened my attention to detail and fuelled my passion for the future. The programme’s focus on industry collaborations and real-world projects has also equipped me with the practical skills needed to succeed in the fashion industry.
PolyU and SFT have given me many opportunities to broaden my horizons. I have been fortunate to receive a scholarship and actively participate in various competitions. These experiences have allowed me to unleash my creative prowess and create meaningful projects with tangible results.

杰出科研
本学院的科研人员在研发新的纺织物料方面，取得了多项革命性的突破，例如使用纳米技术成功研制出一种有自动清洁功能的布料纤维。衣物加上纳米保护层，不仅防止沾上污渍及气味，还可利用阳光降解细菌，减少衣物清洗次数。本系教授还发明了「Virus Stopper个人防护服装系统」，此系统利用纳米抗菌物料及单向透气排汗功能，减少细菌侵入防护衣物并增加穿着舒适度。此外，本系还成功研发「纳米杀菌口罩」，经纳米技术处理的口罩，可防止大部分细菌与病毒的吸入和渗透。

- To understand the suitability of applicants to BA(Hons) Scheme in Fashion at degree level.
- To ascertain whether applicant’s expectations of the programme/career path match what we aim to provide.
- To evaluate the language, communication and interpersonal skills of the applicants.
About 15- 45 minutes
While all bands of applicants are considered, preference is given to Band A and B applicants. Admission to the programme is primarily based on academic merit. The programme will directly offer a place to those candidates with outstanding performance in HKDSE, waiving the interview requirement.
Detailed interview arrangements will be announced to JUPAS applicants via email one week before the dates of group interviews/ individual interviews/ final interviews. Applicants who have good interview performance will be given bonus scores to increase their chance of being admitted to the programme.
All students who are admitted with HKDSE results start the programme with two common semesters of foundational training in fashion and textiles, after which they are streamed into one of the five specialisms(except for students with Secondary Major).
