Academic Programmes

SFT offers a comprehensive spectrum of high quality programmes, covering disciplines including fashion and textile design, fashion business to fashion technology, so as to meet different needs of students, the industry and the society. These programmes are offered at levels from Bachelor Degree up to Post-doctoral study, and are in full-time, part-time and mixed learning modes.

4-Year Curriculum

BA (Hons) Scheme in Fashion

The only fashion programme that incorporates the latest trends of artificial intelligence, digital design, digital marketing, sustainability, luxury fashion, etc. to meet the needs of today's fashion industry. A full spectrum of education covers fashion design, knitwear design, contour fashion and activewear, fashion business, as well as fashion innovation and technology.

Senior Year

BA (Hons) Scheme in Fashion

This specialism addresses the role of design in a rapidly evolving fashion industry. Students will explore their values and personal means of expression, to develop a distinct design practice that considers contemporary fashion in a broader socio-cultural context

MA in Fashion Design (Digital Fashion Innovation)

This specialism is a response to the fashion industry’s digital transformation, where the rise of Web.3.0 and the Metaverse present immense opportunities to reimagine how fashion can be originated and experienced. It expands the scope of fashion beyond traditional design.

MA in Global Fashion Management

The programme aims to provide students with opportunities to pursue advanced-level postgraduate education in fashion and textiles business management; and to nurture fashion professionals and entrepreneurs with strong leadership and professional competency to lead the global fashion and creative industries.

MSc/PgD in Intelligent Wearable Technology

As the first postgraduate degree in wearable technology in Mainland China, this programme provides an immersive problem-solving and critical-thinking education for students holding a bachelor's degree or above in fashion and textiles, materials science and engineering, artificial intelligence, electronics, computer science, chemical engineering, communications engineering, physics, design, business, or other related disciplines.

MA/PgD in Sustainable Fashion and Innovation

The programme aims to develop leaders in sustainability for fashion, textiles and creative industries in Hong Kong and Mainland China, and to transform fashion, textiles and creative organisations using the latest technology and management tools for sustainable growth in economics, environmental and social aspects.

Research Postgraduate

MPhil and PhD

The primary objective of the MPhil programme is to educate students at the master's degree level with a view to prepare them for PhD studies in the near future. The PhD programme is designed to prepare students for a career in academic research and teaching, but it also enables students to pursue a career in research.

Research Postgraduate

Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme

SFT invites worldwide graduates with academic excellence, research potential, good communication skills and leadership abilities for their PhD studies. The Scheme will offer a maximum of four-year tuition scholarship, annual stipend, annual conference grant and cash award for awardees for a maximum period of four years.
