Aims and Characteristics
Programme Overview
The Minor in Fashion offered by the School of Fashion and Textiles at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University provides students from non-fashion disciplines with an opportunity to gain foundational knowledge of the fashion industry through an interdisciplinary learning experience. The programme introduces key areas such as fashion business, fashion design, materials, digital production, sustainability, and emerging technologies in fashion. Through these subjects, students are exposed to the creative, technological, and business dimensions of the dynamic fashion industry, enabling them to develop a broader understanding of how fashion products are conceived, developed, and brought to market.
To be eligible for a Minor, students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.50 or above at the time of application for Minor enrolment.
The Minor application period normally begins after the announcement of overall results for Semester Two of Year One. Your cumulative GPA at the end of Semester Two of Year One will be used to determine your eligibility. If you are interested in pursuing a Minor, please submit your application via eStudent > Application Forms > (AR147) Application for Minor during the designated application period.
