20 (Interview will be conducted at SFT. Shortlisted applicants will receive our email invitation in early Nov.)

Tentative itinerary*

3 Jan: Arrival | Orientation | Welcome dinner 

4 Jan: Insights into the Japanese textile, fashion heritage and dyeing industry - visit to Marubeni Gallery, Tokyo Dye Museum; Some-Komon (染小紋) workshop

5 Jan: Explore Japanese-made textiles or Japanese retail landscape: visit to Uni Textile OR flagship store of MUJI or UNIQLO | Insights into circular-fashion and vintage-fashion ecosystem at Koenji (高円寺)

6 Jan: Discover the innovation behind YKK’s world-class fastener and apparel technologies - visit to Monozukuri-kan (ものづくり館) by YKK

7 Jan: Academic and cultural engagement with Sugino Fashion College (杉野服飾大学) 

8 Jan: Academic and cultural engagement with Bunka Fashion College (文化服装学院), including a mini-lecture or sharing session or workshop | Japanese tea ceremony | Farewell dinner

9 Jan: Departure

* The itinerary may be subject to change, with equivalent alternatives arranged where necessary, due to unforeseeable circumstances

Accommodation

SFT will provide a list of recommended hotels and hostels. Students are responsible for arranging their own accommodation

Flights

SFT will provide a list of recommended flight schedules. Students are responsible for purchasing their own air tickets

Meals

Unless specified, breakfasts, lunches and dinners are NOT included

Visa application

SFT will provide supporting letter to students who require visa application

Insurance

Basic travel insurance will be covered by PolyU. Students are welcomed to arrange additional travel insurance

Package fee

HK$5,200 per student, covering English-speaking tour guide, local transportation, workshop fee, tea ceremony, welcome dinner, farewell dinner and Japanese consumption tax
