Dr Eunji Woo received her PhD in Industrial Design from KAIST, South Korea. Her doctoral research explored how design can support local entrepreneurs in building relationships with customers and their surrounding communities, through everyday design practice, technology-mediated interactions, and policy support. Prior to joining PolyU, she worked as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Industrial Design at KAIST and as a visiting researcher at the DLX Design Lab at the University of Tokyo. 

Her broader research explores how design can make knowledge and values embedded in everyday practice visible and actionable in the development of technologies, services, and policy. She is particularly interested in tools that support sensemaking, envisioning, and value alignment. Her research is strongly field-based, drawing on co-design workshops and collaborative projects with tech startups, local businesses, social entrepreneurs, policy practitioners, and citizens. This work has led to peer-reviewed publications, funded research projects, and sustained collaborations with academic, entrepreneurial, and public-sector partners. 

At PolyU, she will extend this line of inquiry to early-stage ventures, investigating how design interventions can support value formation and alignment as ventures take shape.
